'Come and try' - a one hour introduction to Yoga - learn and feel how yoga can work for you. This practical session will give people who are completely new to yoga, or just new to our studio, an understanding of the set-up and delivery of a yoga class at Unfold. You will experience the practical instruction, the atmosphere, the purpose and the benefits of yoga. We offer eight-week courses for beginners to yoga, so this one-off session will prepare and inspire you.
Loretta embraced yoga from her very first class, appreciating its immediate recuperative effects for a back condition arising in her early twenties. This mindful practice, combining body awareness and alignment, assisted with her recovery and made certain the avoidance of surgery at that time.
Loretta found direct inspiration and authenticity within the language and the teachings; the practical exercises offered clarity and ease in her body and increased energy in her life. She was eager from then on to immerse herself in self-study and practice in both yoga and meditation.
Loretta has been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for 14 years. Loretta currently holds the Iyengar Introductory Level 2 certification. She undertook teacher training with Darrin McNally at Kensington School of Yoga, Adelaide.
The Iyengar Certification Mark is given to teachers of Iyengar Yoga who have undergone extensive teacher training and a rigorous assessment process. Teachers are required to continue their study and education each year which supports and ensures the ongoing high standard of teaching within the Iyengar Yoga method. This certification mark is used and recognised internationally and is a symbol of the shared understanding of the values and standards of the Iyengar Yoga Method.
